ITENE will be present at the Empack trade, which will be held on November 13 and 14 in Madrid, presenting a wide range of solutions to help companies adapt their packaging to the circular economy requirements established by the European Union. The Spanish research center will be at stand 5C15 in pavilion 5 of IFEMA Fair Ground Centre.
Among these solutions, ITENE will showcase the PLA trays reinforced with modified clay developed by this center in the framework of the BIOSMART project. These trays are 100% biodegradable and compostable and their added value lies, moreover, in that they are conceived as a multilayer package, so that the number of layers and their formulation can be adapted to optimize cost vs performance.
In addition, ITENE will hold on November 13 a special session on “The future in Europe – Packaging in 2030” (Empack room, pavilion 5, from 10.45 am to 14 pm) with experts of the research center and representatives of the companies Adolfo Domínguez -one of Spain’s leading and most well-known fashion groups- and Mercadona -the company that holds the largest share of the grocery retail market in Spain-.
